Most custom patches need to copy a specific file to the /data/data directory which can only be accessed using root access. If you think you can rebuild it using that custom patch it won’t work because, firts thing file isn’t copied due to lack of root access and 2nd thing after rebuilding app and reinstalling it, the said files to modify won’t even exist since the new app hasn’t been opened yet and some internal files are yet to be extracted to specific directories!
