Dr. Keel graduated from UC Irvine then earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center graduating with honors in the top 10% of his class. He was fortunate in school to be selected for a Navy Health Profession Scholarship which allowed him to practice medicine as a Naval Flight Surgeon around the world. Returning to San Diego for residency training in Dermatology, Dr. Keel was mentored by some of the leading laser and cosmetic surgeons in the country, developing expertise in laser resurfacing, leg vein treatment, liposculpture, and hair restoration. In 2002, he was the only physician in the country to receive the prestigious resident research award for surgical applications awarded by the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery.
