History
Established in 1997.
Guardian Disability Insurance Brokerage was founded by Steven L. Crawford in August of 1997. He started the company as a DI representative for Guardian, working with insurance agents in the Washington D.C. area right out of college. Within a couple of years he had built one of the largest disability insurance brokerage operations for Guardian. In late 1999 Steve opened a website to support his insurance agent clients, and woke up one morning as the number one search result on AOL.com for the term "disability insurance". The company expanded rapidly, and has been a market leader in the sale of individual disability insurance ever since. We now have 24 employees working in Rockville, MD as well as in detached locations as far north as Pittsfield, MA. Our Financial Representatives have won multiple awards for the sale and service of individual disability insurance.
