When I watch Extreme Home Makeover, DIY shows, and my personal favorite, Holmes on Homes, I see the joy on the clients faces, the relief that the job was done correctly, and the happiness they express when they see their dreams become reality. That, hands down, is the most satisfying part of my job. The feeling that accompanies participating in someone’s dream, and being the resource they use to achieve that dream, is difficult to describe, but “pretty dang awesome” is a good start. I enjoy being one of the good apples in the barrel. Repeat business and word of mouth referrals are my reward and the highest form of professional compliment.
